BR-800: Recording an External Stereo Instrument or Device

标签: record, stereo, instrument, drum, machine, keyboard, device

The following procedure will guide you through setting up and recording an external stereo instrument or audio device.

  1. Lower the BR-800’s MASTER fader.
  2. Connect the left and right outputs of your instrument into the 1/4" inputs 1 and 2 on the back panel of the BR-800.
Note: This may require adapter cables (e.g. RCA to 1/4" if the outputs of your instrument are RCA).
  3. Connect speakers to the red and white LINE OUT jacks of the BR-800 or headphones to the headphone jack  of the BR-800.
  4. Turn up the volume of your external speakers.
  5. Press the MENU button.
  6. Use the Cursor arrow buttons to select “INPUT SELECT”and then press ENTER.
  7. Use the Cursor arrow buttons and the data dial to make the following settings on the screen:

    INPUT : INPUT 1 & 2
    MODE : STEREO REC

  8. Press EXIT twice.
  9. Turn up the volume of your external instrument to a desired volume level and then begin playing the instrument.
  10. On the BR-800, adjust the INPUT SENS knobs for inputs 1 and 2 so that their red PEAK indicators light only briefly at the loudest sounds of playing your instrument.

  11. Turn the REC LEVEL knob to the 12 o’clock position, and then slowly raise the MASTER fader.

  12. Press one of the stereo track REC buttons (i.e. 5/6 or 7/8) to select the track on which recording will occur. Be sure that the selected button is lit solid red and not blinking.

  13. Press REC and then press PLAY. Recording will begin.
  14. Press STOP to stop recording.
